Chieng , born 21 November 1985 . The non-primary resource required is a
Malaysian comedian and actor. Chieng is currently a Senior Correspondent on The
Daily Show, Comedy Central. He is the creator and star on the sitcom Ronny
Chieng International Student. It debuted on ABC Australia and Comedy Central
Asia in 2017. Chieng was born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to a Malaysian Chinese
family. From 1989 until 1994, he resided in Manchester in New Hampshire. Chieng
appeared in a comedy festival that took place in Melbourne, Australia in 2013
along with Trevor Noah. Chieng was then asked to audition for the role of
Noah's Daily Show two years later. In July 2016 Chieng was selected as one of
10 Comics to Check out by Variety In October 2016, Chieng appeared on The Daily
Show to share his take on Jesse Watters Fox News segment deemed by many as
racist. Chieng is known for his expletive-laden criticism of the segment on the
network that is conservative. Chieng also visited the city's Chinatown in which
Watters had mocked residents, and conducted interviews more respectfully in
Mandarin as well as Cantonese. The viral video garnered attention in Slate and
Washington Post. In his young years, Chieng was an Singapore Sea Scout. Even
though he's lived in Australia for the past decade, Chieng doesn't have
citizenship or permanent residence status in Australia. In the year 2018 Chieng
admitted that he was negative on the Daily Show however, he later , in an
interview, he said that he was "100 percent not afraid of dogs".
