Moss was born on the 13th of February in 1977. He is an American football
player. He was a player in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 years with
the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans,
and the San Francisco 49ers. Many consider him to be the greatest wide receiver
of all-time alongside Jerry Rice, he holds the NFL single-season record for
touchdown receptions (23 in 2007) as well as the NFL single-season touchdown reception
record for rookies (17 in 1998) and is ranked second in the NFL all-time
regular season touchdown reception list, with 156. Moss was well known for his
skills in securing contested catches and the word "mossed" has become
part of the football's lexicon. He started his career as a studio analyst on
ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Tuesday Night Countdown shows. Moss was born in
Rand, West Virginia. Moss attended DuPont High School. This was one of the two
schools later consolidated to become Riverside High School. He excelled in
basketball, football and baseball. Randy was also on the school’s debate team.
Moss was the captain of the DuPont Panthers football team to two consecutive
state championships in 1992, 1993. He was a star at wide receiver, but also
played free safety, returned punts and kickoffs, and was the team's punter and
kicker. In 1994, he won with the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia Football
Player of the Year. Parade magazine named him to their annual All-American high
school football team in 1995. in 2009, named him one of the 50 greatest
football players in high school of all time.
